The Windjammer is very old -- about 50 years. But ON the beach. I stayed at the Windjammer in 1973 and my neighbor owned there from 75-80.

The Cayman is "new" -- about 10 years old -- right on the highway, but on the oceanside (don't have to cross the big highway).

Think about the 66th St Holiday Inn, the Grand at 21st street and the new Hilton at 32nd. All expensive.

[I've owned in OC for 30 years.]

We've rented several condos in OC. The last few years we went thru Coldwell Banker, mostly because we've been happy each year with the place we ended up with. Website is cbvacations.com. The site let's you narrow it down by bedrooms and locations. Good Luck!

Hi - we stayed here several times. While some of the condos are run down, many are well kept. It all depends on the owner. You are also not going to beat $1200 - $1500 for a 1-2 bedroom on the beach, in season. If you find something else in that price range, please let me know!!
