Oakland to San Fran?
 

What is the quickest/cheapest way to get from the Oakland Airport to Union Square in San Francisco? I will be arriving on a Thursday morning around 11:00, so traffic (rush hour) shouldn't be a problem. Thanks for your help!

Take BART. The Oakland Airport has a shuttle bus that will take you to the BART station and then you can take BART all the way to Union Station.

Renting a car is not recommended for SF. Take BART as stated above. Once in the city public transportation/walking is the way to go.

Just a clarification: there's no Union station in SF; for Union Square, take BART to the Powell Street station. It will take about 20 minutes from Oakland (once you are on the train).

Take BART. There is no time anymore that rush hour isn't a problem. Those freeways are always busy! And you don't want to drive in the City anyway.
