Oahu W/O Reservations?
We have 3 nights comp at Hilton Hawaiian next month. Can't seem to get a good deal that would be air fare and an additional two nights. Would it work to arrive and search there to get a last minute deal? Hawaii does not seem to be a place where the "deals" are at this time!Any creative ideas appreciated.(It would be for two adults, nothing fancy necessary). Thanks!

I love the Sheraton Moana and they had 35% off rates for frequent memebers. I forget what the frequent club is called but you can sign up for it before you stay.

Unless you are with kids the Moana is nicer. Royal Hawaiian and Hilton HawaiianI think will be so huge and empty right now. Take me with you!!!

Hi Gail,

You can do that. You will find that two blocks off the beach will offer really low prices. Hotels are all scrunched together so you could even walk to check them out.

My personal fave is New Otani Beach Club which is on the other side of Waikiki. Maybe you can get a deal there!! GOod luck and have fun!!

Yep, you can probably even stay at the Hilton once you get there and talk to reservations--bargain for a good price, or move on to one of the MANY other hotels available.

Yep: We did try to get in the additional days at the Hilton Lagoon and they said they were full. Hard to believe....The only other rooms available were not cheap and were in other buildings. HHV is not my favorite (love Outrigger Waikiki) so I think we will just shop around when we get there. New Otani sounds like a good bet. Thanks1 G

ilikai is right next door to the Hilton and you can get ocean view kitchen equiped condos for $700 facing mountains $1200 facing ocean per week. We use to walk to Hilton for shows, dinner etc. Call front desk they are on Alamoana blvd and ask for condo rental number. I lived on Oahu and I never found a better deal in Waikiki than this remember the ilikai is a 4 star hotel so for the money this is a great deal.

oopps $700 condos face mountains not ocean but it is still a pretty city view with mountain back drop.

Thanks for all the great ideas. I wanted to clarify that we have 3 nights already. It is the two additional nights we are trying to schedule. We found an ok rate at the Doubletree for the two separate nights, but we still are looking. We even considered going with a package rate and just having two rooms, three of the nights. The 5-7 Nights/Rate with air is often comparatively cheaper than what you can get trying to book two nights. I hope I am making sense!.

Gail I would also consider Hilton Turtle Bay (no-longer owned by Hilton)on the North Shore wonderful location. They are remodeling but this did not impact the quality of our stay and made rooms very affordable.

Hi Gail--there are supposed to be really good deals at various hotels right now (although I had no idea that the Hilton was so busy). Try any of the Starwood Hotels, or like you said, the Outrigger. Another hotel that may be hurting right now is the Waikiki Marriott, which is the former Hawaiian Regent. Waikiki Park Shore is another one near the Marriott, it's right across the beach.

Hilton hawaiian village closed 2 towers, so they are "full" while being half empty! try the Ohana Surf, or other Ohana hotels. Nice decent rooms and rates were advertised at $49 last week. The Ohana Surf is about a 3 minute walk (one long block) to Waikiki Beach.

Hi; I've been cruising looking for hotels in Oahu this Jan as well. I haven't been able to find any of the deals everyone is talking about. I found slightly lower prices at the MLT vacation site. You can book either air and rooms or just rooms. Check out mltvactions.com
