Cha Cha Cha is a great, cheap place eat! Coming from LA we thought we'd be really disappointed with "Mexican" food in Hawaii but gave it a try anyway. Ended up going back there twice. It's more Caribbean in flavor, lighter preparations, lots of lime, pineapple relish, etc.

Where is Cold Stone Creamery and how does it compare to Lappersts?
|
I don't know where the Cold Stone Creamery on Oahu is, but we have them all over where I live. It's basically more about the concoctions than the ice cream itself. I love Cold Stone but don't think their actual ice cream is that good. The idea is coming up with unique creations using their formulas or your own.

Yes, it's not local. They are just popping up everywhere here.
|
There is a Coldstone at Ward Center near the movie theater, next to Roxy/Quicksilver (I think, it's one of the surf shops, I get confused).
There is another one, but I can't remember where. If you're visiting Oahu, I recommed picking up an "Oahu This Week", for all kinds of shopping, dining, and entertainment. I got one every week for the two months I was there. |
