Oahu north shore vs. Kauai north shore

Hi folks,

Looking into planning a return trip to Hawaii. Last time spent six amazing days on north shore of Kauai and when we visited the south shore were very disappointed - I guess we just love lush! Have heard good things about the north shore of Oahu and am wondering how it would compare to the wonder of Kauai's north shore. Any info. appreciated! Thanks.

The North Shore on Oahu is really quite different. There aren't the hanging valleys and palis of Kauai's North Shore. For lush, go to Hana on Maui or to the Hamakua Coast on the Big Island. I think they would better fit your sense of adventure.

Aloha Barb,
No comparison. We drove a car along the N'shore of Oahu. Don't think I'd try that in Kauai! ;^)

What's wrong with going back to Kauai? We see something different and new each trip.

In addition to Kalena's excellent suggestions, have you given any thought to the N/E side of Molokai? Cliffs higher than NaPali with a nice hike at the end of the road.
Mahalo,
Kal

ps..Aloha Kalena...278 mo' days!

Aloha Kalena and Kal!
You two were instrumental in the planning of our first trip so it was great to hear from you. Thanks for the suggestions - there is nothing wrong with going back to Kauai but I just felt that if we are going all that way again that we should explore other areas. I was trying to keep it to Oahu because we have to land there anyway and I was trying to avoid too much island hopping BUT you may have changed my mind. Thanks for the info. It's going to be hard not to go back to north shore Kauai. We found it paradise on earth. Mahalo again!

Barb, don't worry about Oahu. Despite what some people might say, the island is gorgeous and I can assure you, you WILL find PLENTY of lush on that particular island!!
