Oahu - local music
Coming to Oahu 8-26 to 9-4. Where could we hear some slack-key and ukulele music?
We will have a car - so we can get to any part of the island. |
Honolulu Weekly is a good place to look http://honoluluweekly.com/calendar/gigs/

Last year we saw Cyril Pahanui at Kani Ka Pila http://www.outrigger.com/events/oahu...ka-pila-grille
The restaurant is good and the music is great. |
not necessarily ukulele music, but sometimes they have ukulele music, depends on who's performing that night: chai's bistro at the aloha tower - there's even a buy one get one free dinner if you dine on sunday (not sure with this day) but definitely monday, tuesday or wednesday. the coupons can be found in those ubiquitous oahu gold or this week oahu tourist brochures (the narrow ones that's half the size of an 8.5 X 11). also at the tapa bar at the hilton hawaiian village, there's somebody playing every night. call the hotel or check HHV's website for who's on every night the week you're going. or google jake shimabukuro to see if he is playing anywhere in honolulu that week. have fun in hawaii!!!

Olomana plays Friday and Saturday evening at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Tapa Bar. An old time group going back to the 1970's.

Usually there is slack key at Duke's. Or there used to be.
