Oahu - Help between 3 Hotels - Hyatt, Hilton, or Sheraton
My family of 4 (2 teenagers 15 and 13) will be traveling to Oahu at the end of June for 6 days. I've narrowed it down to these 3 hotels all are in the about the same price change. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

my vote would be for the Hilton. It's a little farther away from the main Waikiki drag, but the beach in front is our favorite...very tranquil waters, lots of sand. It's still close to everything.
The Hyatt is across the street from the beach. The Sheraton is oceanfront location and has sandy beach on either side. I was disappointed during a stay there though because they had no jacuzzi and the pools closed at 6pm. |
Hyatt is a nice hotel. Although it is across the street from the beach, there are no hotels on the beach side of Kalakaua Ave in that area to block the view.
It is right across from the best Waikiki Beach and Duke's statue. Hilton Hawaiian Village is really nice and just as ggtist describes. It is somewhat spread out & although away from the center of Waikiki, it is still a nice location. Ala Moana Center & Ala Moana Beach is fairly close to HHV. There are three Sheratons in Waikiki. Sheraton Waikiki is on the beach and in a great location. Sheraton Moana Surfrider is in the best location. On the link with the map it shows two buildings, Moana & Surfrider. Actually they are connected with the Surfrider tower newer and taller. Sheraton Princess Kaiulani is a nice hotel about 1 block from the beach. Really nice pool there. You can't go wrong with any of the choices. Hyatt or any of the Sheratons if you want to be closer to central Waikiki. HHV if you want to be a little away from mainstream Waikiki. http://www.waikiki.us/waikikimap.htm...260bb1d8c8b18a |
My vote is for the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Stay in the Rainbow Tower facing Diamond Head at least 7 floors up. Also be there on a Friday night to watch the fireworks from your balcony. Good luck!

We enjoyed our stay at the Sheraton Waikiki but please know the hotel has just completed year one of a major three year renovation project. In January 2005 we left just as the jack hammers came out.

The Sheraton has the nicest view in Waikiki. Because it's the only place where you can't see the Sheraton Waikiki.

Hilton Hawaiian Village is a great hotel and complex!!! While walking down Waikiki, the beach in front of one of the Sheratons was very narrow compared to the Hilton.

Does anybody know can you walk from Hilton Hawaiian village to Royal Hawaiian area?
|
Yes. We walked the beach and it was a slow stroll to look at things. It took about 15 minutes. There is a walkway, but you will need to walk on sand on part of the way.
