NYC weekend with tot

ok.. I *am* originally from LI, but after years on the West coast, i would love any input from NYC savvy folks with toddlers around. We'll be in the city for a long weekend in a week and i thought i'd fish around for specific ideas of stuff to do next weekend. So far, i know we'll be at the Met, of course..and probably natural history museum, too. Any random advice? tanx from rainy california

With a tot, you should go to the children's museum o nthe upper west side. Also take your tot to central park, the carousel, zoo, etc.

Look on gocitykids.com for both general ideas for your age tot plus any special things going on on those dates. Make sure to bring lots of warm clothes for tot and yourselves. ;)

Just before you come check out the web site of the local news station (ny1.com). They usually list special activities for kids - but only for that week.

..thanks nytrav, nice suggestion, i'll do that.

mclaurie, will check that site and re:warm clothes..yep,we think it's cold here..but know it's cold there. thanks!

MFNYC, is the children's zoo open in march? hey, mebbe the penguins and polar bear love it! How about the carousel..perhaps they are indoors enough to be open year 'round. I'll look into that..love the central park stuff. I'll check that kid's museum, as well. I was thinking of stuff that is somewhat NY-centric, more..as luckily, she gets tons of great kids museums and parklands around here in abundance!
