NYC- Weekdays or Weekends ?
I am reluctantly coming to the conclusion I will need to cancel our annual summer trip to europe (for various reasons)
So, I am beggining to plan a 5 day visit to NYC. This will be in July (yes, it will be hot, but no hotter than Rome !) Are there better hotel rates over the weekend? or would a monday-Friday trip be better? Thanks for any help you can send this way. |
I could be wrong, but I don't think you can generalize about all hotels weekday/end. The hotels that cater to business people (ie the Ritz Carlton downtown near Wall St.) will probably have better weekend rates than weekday. But overall, it should be a bit less pricey than it is right now (sheer insanity). Lots of hotel have weekend specials. Just depends on your wants and needs. Weekends in NYC are a lot less busy with NYers out of town.

Thanks !!
that was what I was thinking , that many would be leaving the city for the weekend. anyone else?? Thanks again |
When mclaurie says that weekends are not as busy....well, that depends on where you want to go. The tourist sites will be busier on weekends. Theaters are more crowded on weekends. Department stores will have more customers on weeekends.

Agreed - there will probably be fewer people overall on weekends (since many NYers will be at the shore or in the country for the weekend, or on vacation) but tourist sites will probably be busier. Hotels - well it will depend on if it is a business hotel or a tourist hotel.

Thanks, I guess it will will not matter then.
Either way it will be busy, and we will have fun. Thanks!! |
