NYC weather
My daughter and I will be coming this weekend for a week. I realize the rain will be there this weekend, but on drier days, how should we plan to dress as far a wether goes? We are from North Alabama, and we have had rain for about 10 days now but we have tmeratures about 80. Is NYC about 10 degrees cooler? Thanks

New York will be about 60 degrees this upcoming weekend. Jeans, closed toe shoes (although some do wear sandals), a tshirt and a light jacket would do. Temperatures at night don't dip too much so I would recommend layering tshirts and light jackets. When it is dry, temperatures can go up to mid 70's and people wear anything from tank tops and shorts to long jackets..

thanks, I appreciate your response.

Hi Deb,
Just got back from NYC was up and down all week...I believe it will be in the 60's with rain..I would take a light jacket, closed toe shoes, and an umbrella..If its warm, you can always drape the jacket over your arm...Have a great wont be disapointed!

deb, remember that they don't have the humidity this time of year. That will make the spring 60 degree temp much cooler than what you are used to in Alabama.

yes, no humidity will be much cooler.

not sure exactly what you mean by "no humidity"!--it's raining here now (i.e. 100% humidity) and should be much of the weekend. And it is cooler than usual for this time of the year...

As someone that lives in the NYC area we do have humidity this time of year. We experienced some last week and earlier in May. Now we will be in sort of a rainy system and just heard on the news that it is stalled and we will have rain everyday but Sunday.
I think a denim jacket would be good and remember it's fleet week here and we are loaded with sailors from all over the world. Enjoy

As a southerner who just got back a couple of weeks ago, your 60 degrees feels much cooler than ours.
