NYC Trip 2Morrow Help NEEDED
Need help maximizing time/Not good at navigation....2moms 2teens (girls)
Monday
Arrive NYC 7PM
Eat/unplanned
Century 21 maybe?
Tuesday
TOday show early

DO Central Park on Thursday since it's near the starting end of the parade and not much else will be open.
Soho/Chinatown/Brooklyn go together as a downtown day.
Tiffany's is on Fifth Ave at 57th, and American Girl is on Fifth at 49th. Lots of good window-shopping in between.
The Spanish Museum is waaaay uptown.

Well, since you're leaving tomorrow and may not get many replies in the short time available, I can give it a go although I am just a tourist when in NYC:
First, Ground Zero, the Brooklyn Bridge, Chinatown and SOHO shopping will fill one morning/early afternoon. These are all downtown and reasonably close together.
Tiffany's is near Central Park, but of course it won't be open on Thanksgiving Day. Ice skating is also in Central Park, though I imagine Wollman rink will be jammed on Thanksgiving Day. You might want to ice skate at Rockefeller Center the morning you are there for the Today show. American Girl is also near Rockefeller Center.
Magnolia Bakery is in the village; it doesn't look like you have anything else planned that will link to that. There is another one on Columbus Ave. that is close to Central Park. Two fabulous museums, the Met for art and the Natural History museum for...natural history...are on either side of the Park.
Macy's is, of course, on 34th Street (where my favorite Christmas movie is set.)
It would help to know where you are staying. Nevertheless, NYC is amazingly easy to navigate...the streets and avenues are (of course) numbered and except for downtown, the city is laid out in a regular grid pattern. Hope this helps.

Don't miss the Metropolitan Museum of Art (the Christmas tree might be up). Central Park is right behind it. Also, 5th Avenue from about 59 Street to 86 Street is Museum Row.
Would the teens like The Hard Rock Cafe? It is on West 57 Street and you can walk to 59 Street, the Warner building -- shopping, restaurants, beautiful view and Central Park across the street.
Before or after you see Mary Poppins, you might want to go to the top of the Marriott for a drink. Magnificent view of the city and a (slowly) revolving bar.

Others have given you good info, but no one has mentioned it directly. do not go to Century 21 at night. Go early, early in the morning. It opens at like 7:30 or 8 a.m. then proceed to Ground zero, etc.
When you get in tonight, just go get something to dinner. that'll be enough activity and walk, that's enough to see.

If you can only do one museum do the Met - absolutely the best. but go to the web site first to cpick 2/3 departments - or you could be there days. (Note - not open Mon.)
If the girls are teens do they really want to do American Girl (which is a madhouse) - I can;t imagine my step-daughters going near it - and the yonger was 11 when I met them. IMHO this is really for littler kids.
If you mean the Museo del Barrio - it is far uptown - but could be tied in with the Met.

My daughter included the American Girl store on our itinerary for the NYC trip that we took for her high-school graduation gift. And we went back a second time for the brunch. I guess it depends on the kid; mine was a history major in college and was very attached to the whole AG concept. She was so glad that they had "loaner" dolls for the girls who hadn't brought theirs to brunch.

Just back, great trip. Thanks for all the tips. We managed to navigate well and found our our top picks. I think the favs were Mary Poppins, great lunch in a chain near Tiffanys and the parade.
TOO crowded for musuems...maybe next trip.
