NYC to Key West -- Best Way
Greetings. I've run Expedia searches to find flights from NYC to Key West, but can't seem to find anything that doesn't stop 31 times and take days to get there. Okay, slight embellishment, but you get the picture. Any suggestions?

On my last trip I connected through Miami to Key West, so you should be able to do that. Several commuter airlines fly into Key West.
|
Comair has a 55 minute flight out of Orlando several times a day.
|
Thanks. I guess I won't be flying direct out of EWR, JFK or LGA. Perhaps I'm spoiled; I always assume I can fly anywhere non-stop.

Ted,
You may not realize how small the Key West airport really is. Only commuter-type flights go there, so if you want to fly all the way into Key West from the New York area, you'll definitely have to connect somewhere.
|

Julie, you are correct. I've never flown into Key West. I'll connect or have my family pick me up at another airport.
You cannot fly directly to Key West from New York. You will ALWAYS have at least one stop over.

Delta is initiating a non-stop trip from Atlanta to Key West beginning October 1st. If you can fly direct to Atlanta, you should have a pretty easy trip on down to Key West.
|
You can connect from Tampa, Miami, Orlando, St. Pete & Jacksonville. (& I am certain others as well). Miami is closest but there always seems to be a lay-over. Keep in mind only small aircraft can land @ the expansive 2 gate Key West Int'l Airport. I would think you would want to minimize your time on the tiny prop plane if possible.
