NYC--TKTS info please!

I will be in NYC for a week later this month. I have ordered tickets for one Broadway play, but I'd like to wait and get tickets for another at the TKTS booth. Any info? Which plays frequently have tickets available?

Any advice is appreciated.

Deborah

http://newyork.citysearch.com/feature
lists[daily] shows that have been available at the TKTS booths. Of course you might not get exactly those choices, but at least it gives you a good idea of what HAS been available. I suggest you follow it for a couple of days to see if certain shows are more available on certain days
(

Most shows are available at one time or another. Two that are NEVER available are The Producers and The Lion King. Phantom of the Opera is seldom available.
As a general rule, there is more of a choice for earlier in the week performances. Naturally, weekends offer fewer choices.

You may also want to try the TKTS booth at the World Trade Center. The line is usually shorter and it's inside. Check citysearch for the opening times.

WTC TKTS booth opens at 11 am. Matinee tickets sold the day before at this location. They get a smaller allotment of tickets so do get there early. Shows may release unsold tickets to the TKTS booth on Broadway late in the afternoon. If in the area around 6pm check to see what is on the board.

Just a warning - several recent posts have indicated that the TKTS lines at WTC have become quite long - many people have now "discovered" this location. If lines are a concerne and you're flexible about which show you see, lines at the Bri\oadway locationm are generally very short after 5 or 5:30 PM.

Yes the lines are long, and they sometimes intimidate tourists, but they do move fast. I've never waited more than an hour and have met some interesting people in the process. They're the longest before the booth opens, so get there about a half hour afterwards. Can't beat the deals.
