NYC TKTS booth to move
 

After 32 years at the same location in "Times Square", the TKTS booth for discount tickets will move next week on May 1. The new location is in the breezeway of the Marriott Marquis that runs from 45th to 46th Streets. There will also be two more windows than before in the hopes that the lines will move quicker. And it will be undercover for much better weather protection.

From the article (which I've lost the link to, but it was on playbill.com), this is a temporary move. It's moving May 1 to the Marriott Marquis so that they can completely remodel the Duffy Square booth. Hopes are that the new booth will be open (in the current location) in late 2006.

You are so right. I can't believe that nowhere did I indicate this was a temporary move. Sorry about that.

I'm shivering remembering a wait in line in 34 degree weather one November. Here's hoping a remodel will include a windbreak!
