NYC Tenement museum
 

Is this a good tour? The web page seems to show several tours to take? Are they all included or should you choose? Any other ideas are great.

The Mole People tour is an especially good one.

The tour of the tenement museum is very interesting. It shows four different apartments of immigrant families in one building and lasts about 45 minutes to an hour.<BR><BR>The other tours are specialty tours (not included). I guess it just depends on your level of interest of the immigrant experience in New York.

Philip-Thanks for clearing that up. I think I only located the extra tours, not the main tour, on the web site. Thanks for the report. I wonder if you really have to get tickets in advance (I think this was suggested) of if you can walk up. If no one knows, I'll call.

They can only take a certain amount of people on each tour due to the fact that the museum is so small. So if you have your mind set on seeing it, I would suggest making a reservation.

It is so funny that you asked about this tour. We just took one of the tours last weekend. You have to pick the tours you want to take and pay separately for each one. (not a inexpensive place!)<BR><BR>We were there around 12:20p on Saturday and got a 2:00p tour. There is plenty to do in the neighborhood to occupy your time. <BR><BR><BR>We took the &quot;The Confino Family Apartment&quot; tour and it was really enjoyable. It was a role playing tour. Our group pretended that we just arrived in the country and a teenaged Confino daughter would answer our questions and tell about her live while we sat in her apartment.

We went a couple of years ago and didn't have trouble getting tix when we walked up. However it was in August. It was H-O-T, but really added something to the tour as it made you think about how they really lived back then. <BR><BR>We did the &quot;regular&quot; tour and enjoyed it very much. It was really interesting for me because some of my ancestors lived in that area in that era (actually, just a few blocks away).
