NYC suggestions for late night drinks

My husband and I are spending a long weekend in NYC in February and we have our itinnerary almost complete thanks to all the wonderful suggestions found on this board. I was wondering if anyone has a favorite place they can pass along to us. Looking for a place to stop in for a few late night drinks after a busy day. A place we can relax and talk. We will be staying in Midtown. Thanks

How late do you mean by late night? Midnight? 3am?

Midtown is a huge area. I assume you want something near your hotel? Which one is it? Are you talking about a local bar or some place with a view or something special?

Well we are staying at the Warwick. By late night I mean like 11:00 to like 1:00 time frame. I guess I was hoping to find something a little unique.... a place to relax and unwind. A view would be nice but not necessary. Local bar is ok as long as its cozy.

What about the King Cole Bar at the St. Regis?

The Carnegie Club is not far from your hotel and has live jazz on most nights. On Sat. night they do a Sinatra show.

In addition to the King Cole bar (famous mural) in the St. Regis your hotel is also near a number of other hotels with nice bars. The London Hotel is not far and has the London Bar (part of the Gordon Ramsay empire). The Michelangelo hotel is also about a block away and has a nice bar and sometimes live piano. The Parker Meridien hotel is a few blocks north and they have a bar. The Ava Lounge in the Dream hotel is another. A block away from your hotel on 54th & 7th is a place called Faces & Names. There are also some Irish pub type places with good bars including Rosie O'Grady's on 7th & 52 st.
