NYC shoe-shopping question
does anybody know where to buy Thierry Rabotin shoes in Manhattan, or nearby?
|
No, not off-hand. But you can get 'em from eggellershoes.com |
Thanks Gekko -- I did see them on that site -- but I still hope to find a place to go try them on in person.
|
mmm...i think i've seen thierry rabotin at kerquelen in soho. it's on west broadway and spring.
|
I'd email or call the company and find out if they have any stores in NYC or if any stores carry the line.
Good luck. |
thank Wendyj I'll look there tomorrow. Once more to the top for this in case anbody else knows - I am testing this resource!! |
After some serious Googling, I found this, I think the best way to find his shoes is check with the most expensive stores and ask them. I know there is a place in Washington and Dallas.
Thierry Rabotin, who designs his own signature line and Taryn Rose shoes in Parabiago, Milan, Italy, takes a philosophical approach. The smile a woman gets in comfortable shoes is sexy, he said, during a recent visit to show his designs at Hanig's Footwear, 660 N. Michigan. |
Taryn Rose is available in Ny. I see them advertised in the times at a few places and we have them here in Boston. thierry Rabotin I don't know but I wear Labotin that are hand made bought at Barney's
|
Thanks to all who replied. I asked the guys in Saks and they didn't know tho had some ideas of where to check, which I'll do.
Now it's a mission (started on behalf of a friend who saw them on somebody & didn't ask where she got them - now I "need" some myself), |
Elizabeth, I love them! I don't wear very high heels. I found twelve models here.
www.eggellershoes.com I need to know if they run true to size before ordering. Could you ask your friend? |
Cigalechanta - I like the pictures too - but neither of us (me, friend) has yet found any here to try on. But given your interest -- I'll post if I find a place!! (can it be that something is not available in New York? time to start shopping in Detroit or something?)
|
I emailed them for more info. The google says he's swiss and designs in Italy but the loafer with the bit is the only pair that reads made in Italy.
|
Today's Times in the business section has an article on Taryn Rose.
|
Elizabeth. The flats run small and the higher heels I ordered run true tto size.

update:
thanks Wendyj, I did find a few at the address of the Kerquelen shop, now another shop. They say they'll have Taryn Rose in future but not Thierry Rabotin so we are still without a known supplier in New York. I tried some on and they were very nice though I didn't find what I wanted in my size. Actually more than very nice, really beautiful & different from anything else in either the comfort or glamour category. Cigelachanta, did you order & get these shoes after these postings started, or were you buying them anyhow? |
