NYC restaurants

Hi fodorites:

We'll be in NYC for a weekend and I'm looking for dinner places. We'll be Midtown East, but I don't mind a short cab ride. I've booked BLT Steak for 1 evening and am thinking about Oceana. I'd like to stay under $100 person.
Suggestions?

Thanks.

Well - the ones you're picked are fine. but it would help if you gave us some info on what cuisines you like - or not - and what atmosphere you want (romantic, casuale, trendy).

I agree with nytraveler, since there are literally hundreds (if not thousands) that would fit your basic criteria!

YAY you'll love BLT Steak and if you're in that price range you might want to try San Pietro on 54th as well. Great Italian food.

We're looking for American food, fish, seafood or good Italian....
Semi-casual since we're not bringing sport coats or anything like that.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Aquagrill in SoHo for seafood.

Getting in is a long shot because it is very small. But we LOVED the Little Owl on Bedford Street.

It only seats about 12 tables and has been getting a lot of press. So, snagging a table is a challenge. If you go early or late you might be able to get the bar without a reservation.

The food is simple but prepared to perfection. Their Roast Chicken could not have been done better.
