NYC restaurant near Penn Station
 

Hello all...I'm meeting my brother-in-law in the city for a quick bite before going to a taping of The Daily Show. I'd like to meet him near Penn Station...can anyone recommend a decent place to grab lunch? Nothing fancy - sandwiches would be fine - just someplace with tables where we can sit and enjoy.

There are several pubs in/near the station. Tir Na Nog and Stout come to mind. There's also the Stage Door Deli right at 5 Penn Plaza.

Thanks, mclaurie...I've been to the Stage Door and thought it might be in the neighborhood but couldn't for the life of me remember the name! I'll also consider the Tir Na Nog if we happen pass it first...we won't have a lot of time so I just want to find a recommended place and sit down to nosh!

there is also The Tick Tock Diner on the northwest corner of 34th and 8th - reliable, quick and clean . . . a classic diner.

Nile's, in the Affinia Hotel, has a loungey vibe but is very reasonable. Some interesting sandwiches, too.

And there's always Chipotle! ;)
