NYC-Radio City Christmas Spectacular ?'s
Hi, Is this a must see over a Broadway play? I'll be alone for two nights in NYC the weekend of the 16th. If it's a 'go', should I purchase tickets before I leave home? Are tickets to events other than Broadway shows available at the NY TKTS booth? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

I was born and raised in NYC, actually Staten Island so maybe I should say Jersey. Anyway, we always went to the Christmas and Easter shows when I was a kid, a million years ago. A few years ago I returned and had to be dragged to the Christmas Show. Was I glad I went! It was wonderful. Funny, touching, and spiritual. I loved it. Don't miss it. I don't know about getting tickets since I was a guest but I imagine they sell out weeks in advance so I'd get them now. The Rockettes are the greatest. Afterwards, stroll over to Rockefeller Center and watch the skaters. You could go to the Sea Grill and have a great meal too. Do it!!!

Sharon, I will. I just needed a little encouragement. I'm still interested if anyone knows about discounted tickets. Since I'm just a party of one, I'm assuming tickets for other events may be easier to come by than for a party of two or more. Am I correct?

Some performances of the Christmas show sell out, especially on weekends. You might be able to get a single ticket. However, if you want to play it safe, you can call 212-307-1000 or go to its website: www.radiocity.com.
As the the TKTS booth, it also sells tickets to off-Broadway shows.

I don't think that the Radio City Christmas show would be considered
"a must see OVER a Broadway play" as John originally asked. I know its a matter of taste, but for many people Broadaway caliber shows are nothing like the kind of theater thay can see back home and therefore would qualify as the one to choose IF you have to choose.
John, you don't tell us much about yourself (age, for example, or the kinds of things you consider must see) but I vote for any one of a number of Broadway shows, musical or straight play.
Also, FYI, there was/is a ticket booth run by the TKTS people that was for non theatre performance such as dance or concerts. Not sure if it's still at it's previous location (behind Bryant aprk, 6th avenue near 42nd street)
