NYC-Pre-Theater Resteraunt-Help
 

Please advise where to eat prior to seeing Le Mis at the Imperial. Want good food but not too, too expensive please. Thanks

Most restaurants near the theaters have pre-theater dinner packages, especially all the restaurants on Restaurant Row. We ate at a very good French restaurant there, Le Rivage. The package was about $25 per person for 4 courses. There was also an italian restaurant nearby that we enjoyed, but the name escapes me. I'll try to find it for you. <BR>

Try Brant Park Grill behind the Public Library. It overlooks the park and the prices are fairly reasonable. On 42nd between 6th and 7th Ave.

We loved Sardi's food and hustle and bustle of getting meals served before curtain time...even got to see Walter Cronkite!

For good Italian food, Carmines at 44th and B'way offers great values. However, allow some time since this establishment is always packed!!! There is also Joe Allens on Restaraunt Row. Have fun and bon appetite <BR>

Ditto for Carmine's...bring your appetite: the servings are huge. <BR>

I second Carmines and Joe Allens... <BR>If you go to Carmines make sure you are 4 or more people, it is a lot of food!! Also I think Joe Allens is best for after theater because all the stars go ther after theater.. I have seen Nathan Lane, Patti Lupone, etc.... YOu get my point.. But both are great! <BR>

Hi Ken. I have a couple of suggestions. You might want to try Becco on 46th Street(Restaurant Row. The food is quite good. They have a special where they offer three types of pasta, which are all freshly prepared. Another suggestion:Julian's on 9th Avenue and 53rd. They serve Mediteranean food and are reasonably priced. Rachel's is on 9th Ave and (I think)43rd St. My husbadn often takes clients there for business. Finally, B Smith's is on 8th Ave and 52nd??. It is a spacious restaurant and also not too expensive. The fare is a combo of eclectic cajun/creole/southern. Good Luck and enjoy!
