This isn't Brain Surgery! Check one of the hundred thousand weather websites on the internet. If you were smart enough to find Fodor's, you can find out the weather. Hint: Check USA Today for a weather almanac.

no need to be snotty, UncleWeatherbee!

First week of October can be very warm with cool nights. I would advise dressing in layers. Highs MAY be low-mid 70s, cooling into the 50s (upper 40s) at night.

Well, we go to an annual convention the first week of October every year. Some years, we need our really warm jackets. Other times it's hot and sunny. Once, it rained the entire time. Sometimes, it's been in between. You can even get all three in one week (hot, cold, rainy). What weather do you expect where YOU live during the first week of October. Is it always the same there?

How about a raincoat with a zip-out lining. That is what most New Yorkers live in during the fall and early winter months. And take a small folding umbrella.
