NYC - Nov 24-27 - Hotels?

We will be traveling up to NY during the Thanksgiving holidays and was wondering if anyone has a suggestion for reasonable prized hotels in midtown for less than $250/night? The prices seem much higher this year....

If you typed in Midtown or NYC hotels into the search you'd probably come up with about 300 threads on this very topic. No need to reinvent this wheel.

Not sure if Priceline has availability that weekend - but if there are only 2 of you - it might be worth a look.

I just checked Expedia and there are decent hotels out there in your range. Also check hotel websites for special offers. The affinia group of hotels (mostly suites with kitchens) sometimes has some great deals on their website (www.affinia.com). We had some visitors stay at the Shelburne Murray Hill and they were very pleased. The one bedroom suites are quite roomy.

Plug in your dates on quikbook.com, travelocity.com, lastminutetravel.com, easyclicktravel.com to start. You have to compare these types of sites as there is not a "set" one that always has the best deal. If you only need 1 bed, do try priceline. Read biddingfortravel.com and betterbidding.com to get started.

You will need to book this NOW, as hotels in the city are FULL during the holiday, for the parade.

The best website I have seen is www.hotels.com

If you want to stay in midtown, try the Grand Union, just off Madison Ave, very nice boutique hotel and VERY reasonable prices.

Travelzoo has the Park Central New York listed for $159/night from November 21-26th. You might give that a try, as it seems like a really good deal. I might have taken it, too, if we weren't leaving on the 21st. Darn! We got the Salisbury instead (at a higher rate), but I'm fairly certain we'll be happy there.

Tourism in NYC has rebounded to the max this year. You'll have to shop like the dickens at this late date for a "reasonable prized hotel in midtowsn for less than $250/night".
