NYC - Millennium Bdwy or 70 Park Ave?

Found identical deals on travelzoo for both hotels (good deal I think - $199/ night) - can anyone recommend one or the other? We are two adults mid-30s and one 3 yr old. We have no set plans for the trip aside from doing all the touristy sightseeing, spending time in Central Park, etc. Any advice? Thanks!!!

I haven't stayed at either hotel. But, I know that 70 Park is a Kimpton hotel and I've had great experiences with them. It's also a relatively new property. In terms of location, they are quite different. The Millennium Broadway is right in the thick of Times Square. 70 Park Ave is in a more residential/office building neighborhood on Park, but just a few blocks walk from Grand Central and Times Square/ESB. I would think 70 Park Ave would be much quieter. It also looks like it has a hip bar attached. If it were me, I'd go with 70 Park, but that's because I wouldn't enjoy staying right in TS. Some tourists prefer to be in the midst of things, though.

I live here in Manhattan, so I can only comment on location: 70 Park.

No contest.

Thanks for the advice. For quality and quiet I was leaning towards 70 Park; however, with the 3 yr old wonder if it would be too hip? Also curious about the location - I like the idea of quiet but at the same time, will we be lugging our 3 yr old miles on end?

You will be more comfortable lugging a 3 year old at 70 Park than in the middle of Times Square.

My wife and I stayed at 70 Park Avenue a couple of years ago. The room, with a king size bed, was smallish, but very nicely appointed.

For $200 per night it's a pretty good deal, reasonably located and a nice place to stay.

I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
