NYC - Itinerary, comments?

I think I've finally gotten an itinerary worked out for the upcoming weekend. Thanks so much to the faithful NYC posters, I've relied on so much of your information for my research!

Sat, 5/29, arrive 1pm, check into The Melrose. Grab a quick bite at Cabana or something near the hotel. Subway down to ESB (will pre-buy tix), then take in Grand Central. Back up to The Met hopefully by 6pm til close at 9pm. Dinner at 212. Any comments on the restaurant?

Sun, 5/30, Stroll through CP, go to Green Flea Market. Brunch at Isabella's. Subway down to Chelsea, Washington Square Art Fest, Soho, Greenwich Village. Had planned to have dinner at Remi (mid town) at 8pm, but am now thinking this may be better on Monday, comments?

Monday, 5/31, Tenement Museum Tour (will pre-buy tix), See Trinity Church, Cunnard Building, Shop at Century 21, Battery Park and end with Ferry to Ellis Island. How long should we plan for the Ellis Island trip? Dinner? Possibly re-schedule Remi to this night.

Tuesday, 6/1, visit the Guggenheim and Frick Museums, the shop 5th avenue and mid-town. End in Times Square, see 42nd street at 7pm, then a post-show dinner. Where???

Wednesday, 6/2, Early visit to the Today show and Rockefeller Center. Tour of Radio City Music Hall at 10AM? Will we have time with a 1:50pm departure out of LGA?

Thanks!

I was so pleased to see you are making a stop at the Met, it is a true treasure, and you could really spend the whole day there, the museum is so large.

Highlights of the museum to me are the Temple of Dendur (with the story of the temple done with pictures on the wall as you walk in), the Expressionist rooms (upstairs as you walk in the museum and to the left), American Wing and the garden (quite a few Tiffany pieces), and the Frank Lloyd Wright room.

If you are going to be anywhere near Chinatown this weekend, please join us for Dim Sum, we are there just about everyweekend.

You are going to have a great time, so far the weather is being predicted as nice so keep your fingers crossed.

Have fun!!!!

Great planning. ((Y)) Which tour are you taking at the Tenement Museum? I took the Piecing it Together tour and really enjoyed it. It is truly a fascinating place to visit.

Have a great time in The City.

We are trying to decide between Piecing it Together or Getting By. So far I can get tickets to either. I'm planning on purchasing today.

Thanks for the comments on the Met. I hope we are spending enough time there. There is so much to do and just so much time, ya know?

buffy: I am there Memorial Day weekend also. What is the Green Flea Market? I know about the Greenmarket in Union Square on Saturdays, but you are going to this on Sunday so can't be that.
I know everyone says "get your tickets to Tenement early, they sell out", and i see you have indicated you'll get them online. I kept checking online last week and the tour I wanted on Sun. was available and I hadn't really made up my mind on timing so I didn't book- then I looked the next day and all of a sudden EVERY Sat. tour of the one I wanted (Corfino) was totally booked up! SO ended up having to switch Sat. and Sunday things around so we could go to Tenement on Sat. instead and get that tour. So book now, the slots can disappear overnight (probably group tours do this).

emd - Green Flea Market is an outdoor flea market on the UWS, near Columbus and 7th (I will confirm that, don't have my scraps of paper handy!) I visited this area 8 years ago and remember liking it. It was a memorable Sunday morning. I've been trying to figure out a way to make it to the Green Market in Union Square, but can't get it to work with my schedule. I think it would be neat.

Shamelessly bumping to see if anyone has comments on my dinner questions :-)

Re dinner: You don't give price range or preferences, but Becco is usually good. Going uptown, we like a little place called Cara Mia, which I think is on 8th -- quiet, small, sort-of romantic atmosphere.
