NYC in June - Midtown Hotel ?
 

I have been to NYC a couple years ago and stayed at the Drake Swissotel in Midtown. I really thought the hotel was nice and the room was spacious. I am coming to New York again in June and bringing my 2 adult daughters with me. The one thing I really liked about the Drake was the location and that we could walk to many places. Are there any other quality hotels in this vicinity that would be similar to the Drake? We will be three females to a room so spacious is important.

I just spent the weekend in NYC for a friends birthday and we stayed at the New York Palace (formerly Helmsley Palace). The location was perfect - right on Madison behind St.Patrick's Cathedral - everything near by - Rock Center, Saks, Radio City and all the shops on Fifth Avenue. The price was reasonalble and we had a corner room that was very spacious - but we were only two people. Good luck.

Michelangelo, Warwick, Rhiga Royal, Salisbury are all in the same area and have suites and/or one bedrooms.

All the hotels GoTravel mentions, while lovely, are on the west side while the Drake Swissotel is on the east side on Park Ave. Not to say you can't walk to lots of places from those others, but didn't want you to think they were in the exact same neighborhood.

There are a number of other hotels in that area. Not sure what sort of accomodation you're looking for. A one bedroom suite would at most have 2 double or Queen beds and a queen sofa bed, so each of you could have your own bed but one would be sleeping on a sofa bed.

The Elysee is a charming smaller hotel in the same area as the Drake and I think they have one bedroom suites that are like apts. Famous place with lots of neat history.

The Omni Berkshire is similar to the Drake I think.

The Benjamin is a few blocks away and is a suite hotel but reviews say the decor is tired. The Palace is a good idea. Very close to Saks. The St. Regis is another in that area but very pricey.

I second the recommendation on The Palace. The rooms were recently redone and the lobby was completely rennovated a couple of years ago as well, and it's beautiful. Some evenings in the lounge area they have live music.

One of the best restaurants in the city is Cirque 2000 which is in the gold room in the hotel.

The location is terrific close to everything, and the bus along Madison Ave stops right in front of the hotel.
