The UN Plaza is no longer a Hyatt, but rather part of the Regal Hotel chain. We stayed there three weeks ago. It was okay. The location is great, ahd healthclub breathtaking, but WATCH OUT for the rooms. They range in quality from superb to unacceptable. Maybe I should not refer to quality, but rather size. Some rooms are entirely too small, and despite making an advance request for a non-smoking room with either two beds or a king, we still were thrust into a tiny room reeking of cigarettes with ONE little bed. It was clearly a room for one person (and a small person at that). I put my foot down on the spot and we were moved to a more acceptable room right away. But don't let them screw around with you, and make your room preferences known in advance, confirm them by phone several times, get it by fax in writing, and then see that your demands are met upon check-in.
