NYC-history City Squire Hotel

Looking for information about the City Squire Hotel. I stayed there as a child in the late 60's and would like to visit the area to see how it may have changed. Does anybody recall where this hotel may have been located in New York City?

According to this unfortunate news story from 1987, it appears that Sheraton bought the City Squire hotel (don't know when) and that it is located at 7th Ave and 51st St.

It's now the Sheraton Manhattan http://tinyurl.com/kdtq9

It's located just a few blocks north of Times Square.

A quick google result -

What is going on, in short, is almost as much a re-creation as a remodeling. In the end, the 29-year-old hotel on Seventh Avenue, between 52d and 53d Streets, will court a new clientele, charge higher prices and get a new name: the Sheraton New York Hotel. Much the same process is under way at the Sheraton City Squire, cater-corner from the Centre, which is to emerge from a remodeling and partial refacing as the Sheraton Manhattan Hotel. Both projects were designed by Brennan Beer Gorman of Manhattan.

It sounds like it became the Sheraton Manahattan in 1991.
