Can anyone recommend historical tours of NYC? Thanks!

Check out Time Out New York's website as well as the Big Onion tours. Or pick up a copy of TONY at your local bookstore.

There's a current thread on the tenement museum you should read. There are various walking tours of Greenwich Village. I posted info on one in another thread. Do a search for Greenwich Village tours. The Museum of the City of NY has plenty of historical info.

I don't know if they still offer them, but some years ago I took a architectural walking tour from South Street Seaport that was very enjoyable.

I've always found Big Onion tours to be very good. Most of the guides are grad students or Ph.D's in history. They feature a particular neighborhood. They are reasonably priced.

The Tenement Museum is great if you are into history. I was there last week and really thought it was interesting.
