NYC - Grammercy/Flatiron/Chelsea Need quick restaurant rec for tonight

Just found out my client wants to go out to dinner after a business meeting this afternoon in NYC.

This will be an early dinner after meeting at 6th Ave bet. 18th/19th. 6-8 people. Walking distance would be good.

Client requests: No Italian. Restaurant should be cool, funky.

Price point? Moderate to low end expensive ok. If we could stay around or under $100 per person with drinks that would be great.

Any help / suggestions are much appreciated! Trish

There is a newish restaurtant that is VERY fun and mex/asian right on 18th between 5th and Broadway. It is in the space that was America if you know the area.

I thought the food was good and the atmosphere is very New York, one whole wall is a waterfall.

Head east on 18th and the restaurant is just beyond 5th on the north side of the street.

Hope this helps.

Hi Trish,

Gramercy Tavern, 43 E. 20th between B'dway, Park ave. south, if you eat in the front room it shouldn't be more than $100 per person.

If you want seafood, Shaffer City is good, 21st and 5th.

Tapas - Boqueria, 53 w. 19th, Sapa for thai/french - 43 w. 34th, Rosa Mexicana - 9 E. 18th, Craftbar - B'dway between 19th & 20th.

You have many choices, especially for an early dinner.

Union Square has tons of great restaurants, Union Square Cafe it wonderful too.

Quick, call Union Square Cafe and see if they can take you! It's not that long a walk.

Hello & thanks for all the replies.

We went to Sapa. Everyone was happy with the atmosphere and the food was very tasty. Had a great time.

Very tired and very busy today at work...but last night was fun. Trish
