NYC Flag Store
 

A friend is looking for a Scilian flag, approx. 2' x 3', and has been unable to find one here in San Francisco, or online.

We'll be in NYC (HOORAY), in a few days. Does anyone have the name, address and/or phone number of a flag store that might carry one? If we can't get there ourselves, I will telephone them, and see if they will send it.

Couldn't find it online..cannot imagine why as they seem to be all over the place.

Thanks, I'm forwarding the info to my friend.

Apparently the flags at Patriotic.com are larger than he wanted 3'x5'. He is looking for something around 2'x3'. The other address for geographic... isn't a valid site any longer.
My friend may have tried these and couldn't reach them or couldn't find the correct size, maybe that is why he is having so much trouble online.

Any other suggestions?

My only other thoughts would be to look in Little Italy (but I have no idea where) or, if Sicily is a member of the United Nations (I doubt it but don't know) the UN may have their flag, but inlikely in the size your friend wants.

The UN has a very extensive collection of flags for sale but I believe they are for UN member nations only. Given the political hotbutton in several countries of separatist movements for various regions, I would think the UN would steer clear of even the simplist of gestures of having regional flags for sale.

Little Italy is relatively small. If you walk up Mulberry you might find a shop.

More than you'll ever need or want to know about Sicilian flags......You're right McLaurie, 3 x 5's only. Thanks bennie, I checked the site of the Sicilian store in Boston and telephoned them. The only 'flags' available in the US, are really thin banners, not the kind that will last if hung outside, and then can only get them 3'x5'(both online and off). They can't even order them from Sicily. Nice store and very honest.

Sooooo, the whole thing got dumped right back on in my friend's lap.

We're packing for NY as we speak.
