NYC Farmer's Markets in May

I'll be in NYC last weekend in May and would love to hit up some farmer's markets. I remember going to one way back when somewhere in the village. But I stumbled upon it. Can I have some recommendations and other fun places to cruise on a Saturday morning.

You probably stumbled upon the Union Square Greenmarket. There are different Greenmarkets in different locations throughout the city on different days of the week.

The best greenmarket and there is one every Saturday is in Union Square Park-14th Street.

Near there is City Bakery for a wonderful breakfast, high class cafeteria style.

If you like basketball, The Cage on Sixth Ave and 4th Street. Smallish basketball court, tough street variety played there.

All the way over by the Hudson River is NY's latest toy the High Line currently open from 2oth street to Ganseveoort Street

Yeah, i definitely want to hit up the high line. I think it was the Union Square Park Greenmarket. I'm excited for this trip. I've never been in Spring. Only summer and winter. So I want to walk a lot and explore, explore, explore!!!

Not outdoors, but Chelsea Markets is a terrific destination.

Another good one is Whole Foods at Columbus Circle - just for the "you must be joking" prices.

There's also a Whole Foods at Union Square, so while at the farmer's market you can certainly check out Whole FOods and if you're hungry, check out all their food bars and their seating area which overlooks the park.

Also that time of the year there always always street fairs at various locations (see http://www.nycstreetfairs.com/sched.html or just google NYC streetfairs fo rlots of calendars).
