NYC Department stores

Trying to put together our plans to visit and could not find hours that the major department stores are open-Macy's, Saks and Bloomies (during week and weekend) in late October. Wondered if anyone had any info?

I believe they open at 10 AM Monday through Saturday and at noon on Sunday; not sure of closing times.

I'm not sure either but I can tell you that Bloomingdale's closes at 3PM on Mondays. Found that out the hard way once.

Here are the store hours, as of today. They should be the same in a month, possibly changing as Christmas approaches.

Macy's: Mon-Sat 10A - 8:30P; Sunday 11A - 7P
Saks: Mon-Wed, Fri-Sat 10A - 7P; Thursday 10A - 8P; Sunday 12P - 6P
Bloomingdale's: Mon-Fri 10A - 8:30P; Saturday 10A - 7P; Sunday 11A - 7P

I don't know why Bloomie's was closed at 3pm on a Monday, Alexis, but it's definitely not a regular occurrence. Have fun shopping everyone!

Here's a novel thought. Go on Yahoo yellow pages and look up their phone numbers. Then dial the phone and ask each store your question. In exactly three calls, you will have reliable correct information.

Or, you could sit back and expect everyone here to do the work for you. Or, wait while anonymous people speculate. Your choice.

Bob, you're a boob!

BOB: don't answer if you don't want to help. Find something better to do with your time. That's what this site is for-to help people plan their trips.

Bob,

Did you ever stop to think that Elizabeth may be posting from the another country other than America?

I for one would much prefer to post a question on a travel forum rather than spend an eternity on a Department Store switchboard.

Do you know how expensive long distance phone calls are from Europe, Australia, Asia etc etc etc???

To put it simply - you're a moron!

Sure, bob may have been harsh, but consider this. Elizabeth was not asking for an opinion. She was asking for concrete facts. Why would anyone want to have a bunch of message board posters guess as to the answer, and then be wrong. I know people are trying to be helpful, but sometimes their information is wrong, and why would Elizabeth want to depend on it? Especially when it's a simple enough thing to find out on your own?

Now if she was asking which store people thought might be best for a particular need, I could see it. I think bob was just expressing his frustration at people who use this place like their own personal butler service.

OK, flame away, but that's just my humble opinion.

Macy's Hours: Monday, Thursday, Friday: 10am - 8:30pm; Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday: 10am - 7pm; Sunday: 11am - 7pm

Note this is different than the hours Patty posted.

Seriously...your best bet is to call the stores, since all the info you find on the internet may not be consistent!
