NYC Cabs and Credit Cards

Do most cabs take credit cards in NYC? I don't plan to use it for small rides within Manhattan but would prefer to use my card for the trip between the airport and my hotel. Thanks!

I have never used a credit card in a taxi, nor have I ever witnesses anyone use a credit card. I'm 99.9 % sure they don't. The hotel you're staying in doesn't have an airport shuttle?

NYC cabs will not take a credit card. Cash ONLY. However, if you were to book a car service to/from the airport, they would take a credit card assuming you arranged that ahead of time. 2 car services that are well known and priced similarly to a cab are carmellimo.com and telavivlimo.com They often have discount coupons on their websites.

Thanks for the info. The hotel does not offer a shuttle- they recommended just taking the Super Shuttle. Mclaurie- thanks for the websites...I think I will use one of those services.

There are a few cabs out there that take credit cards, but they are very few and far between. Don't count on finding one. They keep talking about putting it in more, but that's not happening any time soon.
