NYC Brunch Buffet
 

I have read of several NYC restaurants that have Saturday & Sunday Brunch, however, I wondered if any are buffet-style with many choices. That seems to be one of the draws of brunch in my area - you can graze and try many different items, both breakfast and lunch foods...
Can anyone tell me if there are buffet brunches in the city & where?

This is an interesting question. Of the seemingly zillions of Sunday brunches I've eaten in Manhattan, I don't recall ever seeing a buffet.

I've never been, but doing a quick google search for brunch buffet in NYC I found one at BB Kings that also has gospel music on Sundays and Motown on Saturdays

Buffets are not a NY "thing" but brunch is :)

I think you will find more brunch buffets at the hotels. I think there is one at the Waldorf and the Le Meridian, but I'm sure there are many others. Check the hotel where you are staying.

Cafe Botanica at the Essex House has both a Saturday and Sunday brunch buffet, where you may serve yourself the appetizers (which are wonderful, among them smoked salmon, huge shrimp, various salads & pastas) and order an entree from the menu. Then back to the dessert bar where there are many choices of homemade desserts.

My husband and I just returned from a weekend in New York. We had sunday Brunch at the Aquavit - a Scandanavian Restaurant. It is $39 per person and you get all Scandanavian type foods. Lamb, Swedish Meatballs, Herring, etc. It is different, delicious and I recommend it highly.

Agree that buffet is not a New York type of thing. generally the food is cooked in advance and steam tabled - so the quality tends to be mediocre at best. For us, fresh is better.

Try 8 1/2 at 9 W. 57th St. between 5th and 6th. We had a fabulous brunch there for $27 per person. Check out web site below for menu.

They also had hot meats which are not shown on the menu, beef, pork, chicken. Great crab and shrimp and made to order crepes (just like Paris!), besides many breakfast and lunch items too numerous to mention.

My daughter lives in NYC and knew about it from reputation.

The Cafe Botanica buffet that Leona mentioned is WONDERFUL. I typically don't like buffets but it is really good quality and so attractive, and so nice to got a table right on the park.
