NYC: Best cocktails
 

My daughter turns 21 this weekend and she and I are going to spend it in NYC--theater, dinner, shopping. I want to take her to an attractive, upscale bar where we can have a Cosmo or some other tasty libation to toast her birthday. Any suggestions?

The fairly new Mandarian Hotel in Columbus Circle. The views are great, as they should for $17 martinis. Nice bar for 1 round.

I'd suggest the bar at the Soho Grand... really cool place, nice people, great drinks

The Rainbow Grille at the Rainbow Room at the top of Rockefeller Center.

Not only a nice place but the most fantastic view of the city to boot!

Since it is her birthday, I suggest champagne at Flute or Bubble Lounge.

Otherwise, Flatiron Lounge and Employees Only are two great places to have a cocktail.

The Caryle Cafe, a true NYC jewel. Very Classy and great service and drinks.

Without a doubt, the Pentop Bar, at the top of the Peninsula Hotel. My dad took me there shortly after my 21st b-day, not too long ago.
