NYC and related questions

Okay, I will be flying into the Westchester airport....I would like to know which Train station should I goto to take the NYC train to grand central terminal? and how long will the taxi be to the station from Westchester.

Also, What tour bus should I take for Woodbury Commons? I remember hearing that there are buses going up there from the port authority terminal? Am I correct?

Another question, I am going to be in NYC, from Aug2-6, staying at the essex house for 2 nights and st. regis for 2 nights..What is the best method to get to either yankee stadium or shea stadium? I would like to see a baseball game, hopefully on sunday night or monday..Are the yankees or mets in town during this period?

Thanks

Can't help with the Westchester part, but you shouldn't have a problem getting into the city from there, ask at the transportation desk at the airport.

Yankee Stadium is easy to get to, take the D train from 34th St, near Macy's or at 59th St and Columbus Circle, it's only a few stops from 59th St. Not sure of the game schedule but you can check and order tickets online at www.yankees.com

Enjoy your trip.

There is a bus to Woodbury commons from the Port Authority but why waste a day in NYC by going shopping up there. Those 'outlet' malls are never what they are cranked up to be. If good discount shopping is what you want, do it in NYC. Go down to Century 21 (across from Ground zero) and have a field day.

You can take Metro North (train) into the city...their telephone number is (212)532-4900...you'll probably have to take a taxi to the station...as another poster wrote, you can take a bus from Port Authority to Woodbury Commons...there are great end of season sales going on there now...I know because I was there recently...picked up nice things at Ralph Lauren and Ann Taylor...it does get crowded and as the day wears on the stores become very messy, but if you have patience and like to walk, you can find good deals...there's also a food court there...I've never taken the bus there, but it's about 60 miles north of the city, so you should get there within 1 hour and 1 hour and 15 minutes...it will take up a big part of one day though, but you could still get back in time to go out in the evening...perhaps stroll through Little Italy, Chinatown, and Greenwich Village.

I believe the bus company that goes to Woodbury from the PA is Shortline.

For Yankee Stadium take the D train from Columbus Circle (59th. St.) to 161st ST in the Bronx.

For Shea Stadium go to Grand CEntral or Times SQuare station and take #7 train to Queens.

The Yankees are on a long road trip so the Mets should be in town.
