NYC Accommodations?
Need suggestions, please, for NYC accommodations around $100/night double for four nights in mid-March.
We'll do B&Bs, inns, small/older hotels, etc. Would prefer Manhattan, and something charming. Am I dreaming? In our 50s, hostels are out. Thanks! |
For that rate I would go with Priceline - and ou might be able to come up with something liveable. Some people reco the Super 8 as a maxi budget type of place - clean but incredibly basic - but I have no perosnal knowledge.

You could search this site:
http://www.bedandbreakfast.com/manhattan-new-york.html for B&Bs. There seem to be some listed near your price range, but I have no knowledge of any of them. Maybe if you get some names of some that seem like they'd work you could search here and at tripadvisor, and post here, for reviews of them. Otherwise, I agree with priceline. Check www.biddingfortravel.com to see what winning bids are posted for near your dates, and also be sure to read their FAQ so that you fully understand free re-bidding. You may not get something totally charming, but if you can bid 3* or 4* (not sure what's reasonable in NYC for that price) you should get something serviceable, if small. |
nytraveler is correct about the Super 8 Times Square. It is clean, basic and very reasonably priced. The best thing about it is the location, just a couple of blocks from Times Square and Rockefeller Center, very central. Easy walking to theatres, many restaurants, Central Park, Empire State Building. I always recommend it to budget travellers.
Good Luck! |

Book soon, my choices were cut the 17-20th already... If you choose a hotel you like but they don't have a night open get the hotel number, we got Sat. night and don't have to change hotels... Call the hotel
I used NewYorkCity.com |

Yes you're dreaming. You will absolutely positively not find charming for $100. You may find basic. Even good b and bs will be more than that. Your very best bet is trying bidding on Priceline. Read biddingfortravel.com or betterbidding.com for help.
