NYC 11-24- Radio City to Bleecker St.

We"re taking advantage of a cheap bus trip to spend the day in NY tomorrow. The bus will drop us in the Radio City vicinity, and we have a walking tour scheduled in Greenwich Village, 2.5 miles away.

Is a taxi the only option? We won't have much time.

I'd say a taxi would be slow -- lots of shoppers.

I think your best bet is the subway at 47th and 6th. Take the B,D or F trains downtown and get off at West 4th Street. Bleeker is a few blocks further (depending on what street exit you take, think lower) down 6th Ave.

It will take FOREVER to get from midtown to the village tomorrow. The city is CRAMMMMMMED FULLLLLL of tourists and shoppers and the traffice is awful.

TAKE THE SUBWAY, and it will only take a few minutes.

Agree subway is your only option if time is limited. This whole weekend is gridlock alert days - meaning it can take 5 or more minutes per block by car (and a taxi would be a huge fare, since it's based on time as well as distance.)

Depending on where you want to be on Bleecker St., choose to get off at West 4th stret or at Broadway/ Lafayette. B, D or F train.
West 4th closer to 6th Ave and Bleecker or to McDougal & Bleecker. In general, for going to the West village.

B'way /Lafayette is closer to the eastern side of Bleecker st - B'way &Bleecker, Bowery & Bleecker etc.

Thanks so much!

Now I'm wondering how long it will take the bus to get to the drop-off point...

Appreciate the advice-subway it is.

I gather it's too late, but hopstop.com would give you all the options and estimate timing.
