NY Maker Faire?
I'm considering taking my husband to Maker Faire for his birthday. The airline tickets will be about $600 but the hotel can be covered through points. I'm trying to figure out if it is worth it. I found the schedule for the SF Maker Faire online and would book the trip if NY was half as good.
Has anyone been? |
What's a Maker Faire?

Maker Faire?

And if this 'Maker Faire' is in NYC, why is the thread tagged for S. Carolina??
|
have never heard of "maker fair:
what and when is it? how long would you be in ny? hotels may not be much cheaper than air |
Maker Faire definition - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maker_Faire It's from the folks at Make Magazine. Basically, creative, do-it-yourself projects, like the Uber Tuber: http://makezine.com/2009/02/20/maker...r-tuber-freel/
Have you checked to see if there is one closer to you? I know there are smaller Maker Faires elsewhere in the country, though the NY one sounds like it would be fantastic. Lee Ann |
How do I change the tag?
There is one in Atlanta but it is described as a Mini Maker Faire. |
If you contact the editors, they may be able to change the tag for you.

They did . . .

Thanks.

We were there several years ago. My husband says the answer to your question is "absolutely." It was in Queens, and was large enough for a whole day. I enjoyed it, but the do it yourself geeks in our group loved it.

Agreed - if you like that stuff it's a cool event. Take away his credit card or else you'll end up buying a lot of widgits and what's its.
