Have you done searches above and on tripadvisor.com?

I've only stayed at the Radisson Lexington and was not impressed. The room was tiny, furnishings/decor were kind of shabby and old, it was noisey, the desks clerks were not friendly or helpful, and they did not have our room ready on time (even though we arrived after check-in). This seemed to be a problem frequently--the line to check-in was always long! Housekeeping was always running behind and often forgot to leave enough towels, wash cloths, etc. I can say that I liked the location. Hopefully, you can find another place that's much better than this one.

I would cross the Milford and the Radisson off your list. They are not good and they aren't worth the money. I have not stayed at either of these becasue it was a conscious decision not to do so!

Is Priceline an option for you, or do you need a room with more than 1 bed? If you can't use PL try placestostay.com easyclicktravel.com or hotels.com to compare rates. When you find a rate you can live with, look the hotel up on tripadvisor.com and check out the reviews.

May husband often travels to NY (from Europe) and I always book him with quikbook. I never pay in advance, so I can always cancel or change rooms.
Some superb boutique hotels (not always do they have great rates, but it's worth the try) are The Time, The Muse, W Times Square....

The hotels on your list are all over the place in terms of location and quality. Eliminate the Milford Plaza (also known as the Mildew Plaza by locals). The Amsterdam Court gets very mixed reviews on tripadvisor. None of these are what I would pick. Of your list, the Renaissance is probably the best hotel (but there are better in the Times Square area). The Helmsley Park Lane is in a lovely location across from Central Park and right near Fifth Ave., but reports are rooms need a facelift. Ofcourse, a lot depends on what price you're paying.

I recently stayed at the Renaissance in Times Square on a business trip. Generally I avoid this area on business but my other choices were booked up. I liked the hotel, the rooms are larger than most, marble floors in the walking areas and bathrooms, and nice views of Times Square. The windows open which I thought was great because I often have problems with my room being to hot. The only down side was that their restaurant is being renovated and I believe it's closed for the month of January. They gave me a complimentary breakfast at a buffett that they set up in the bar area.
