NY Hilton Towers

We were wondering if anyone stayed at the NY Hilton on the avenue of the americas? What do you think of it. What were the rates that you paid for it?

We stayed there in June in a suite. The room rate was $389, I believe. We needed three beds and the suite was spacious and accomodating with a fold-out sofa bed in the living room. Only a very small bathroom, though.

The suite afforded us the use of the hospitality room with a continental breakfast each morning and drinks, snacks, desserts all day until 11 PM. We ate our main meal at midday while we were there and had continental breakfast and hors'deuvres (sp??) in the hospitality room each evening. So, we felt the room rate was fair for all the amenities the hotel offered us. All these options are described on the Hilton website.

Stayed there on our first "family" trip to NYC a few years ago. It was thanksgiving week, and we lucked into a special deal of $139/night. I haven't seen this price since, but have certainly seen room rates of less than $200/night.

We thought it was a great place to stay: the room was roomy, location was great, within walking distance to LOTS of things, subway a block away, and a GREAT 24-hour grocery/deli just across the street (go out the parking deck entrance and it's directly across the street). People have criticized it for being too big and impersonal, but this didn't bother me particularly.

If we could get comparable rates, we would stay there again; now, for the price, and with the "family in tow," we stay at Hotel Beacon, whose kitcheonettes and location across from 3 major grocery stores works well for those who wish to eat in the room. The subway is very close, and we can get to the same midtown locations in 10 minutes.

Stay at the Hilton if the price works for you!

I stayed there on a priceline rate of just under $100 I beleive. Would I stay there again? Yes. Great hotel, great location in Midtown.

We stayed there for a week in early August for our first trip to NYC on a Priceline vacation bid -- my guess was we paid around $90 a night for the room, two doubles. (the vacation package includs flight too, so can't break it down exactly)

Try to get a corner room if you can, they are a bit bigger, because of the floor configuration. We liked the hotel, excellent location! It wasn't unique or anything, but worked well for the four of us. Bathrooms are on the smallish side, but we managed.
We did use the executive lounge, occasionally, basically accidently because no one checked our key to see what floor we were on (we went pretty early before the lounge host showed), but if you can get on the executive floors for $20 extra a night, probably worth it for a very nice continental breakfast and snacks later in the day.

I would recommend trying to get the hotel bidding Midtown West in NYC on Priceline, this hotel comes up most often around $90-100 a night especially if there are just two of you planning to share the room.
