November Weather In Hawaii?

We live in Tampa and are used to very warm weather. After checking the weather in Hawaii for the last week of November/first week of December, I am unsure what the high of 83 degrees will mean for us. Any other Floridians ( or warm weather people) out there who can maybe tell us just how warm/cold it will be in Hawaii at this time of year? Thank you so much for your help.

We've been to Hawaii several times in November. The temps were always steady, in the 80s. Only time I've ever been cold was on top of Haleakela at dawn, and that's about 10,000 feet, I think.

83 is 83, it will be wonderful.

I live in Kailua on Oahu. Right now, it's 'cold' for me. But 'cold' is low 80's, clouds, strong trade-winds and more short bursts of rain. ;-) It's still hot to most folks.

In Waikiki yesterday I was VERY hot. It was sunny, warm, less windy than Kailua. Temp was the same on both sides. So it's all relative. It's shorts and t-shirt weather vs shorts and tank top weather if that helps. Oh, and I might put on socks and shoes instead of slippers.

OT - Hulagirl, I am so envious of you living in Kailua - love it there!

Why is this tagged New York?

Dejais Nov 10th, 2011 05:08 AM

BSpielman...IDK. I tagged it Hawaii. :(

Hulagirl...Thank you so much. Your explanation is perfect (tee shirt vs tank top). I'll be sure and pack accordingly.

Unless the fairly rare storm blows through in November, you should enjoy some of the finest weather in the world, warm but the trade winds bring sweet respite. Hawaii also doesn't have much humidity - particularly in November.

And if you do go to the to of Mt. Halaleakua - to see the great sunrise, yes, it can be brisk before the sun comes up over the crater. :)

<<<yes, it can be brisk>>>

We froze :-)

Thanks all. People laugh but a Florida girl can get really cold in 70-80 degree weather. It's all relative, I guess. Your answers helped so thank you all.

If you get a bit chilled - have a Mai Tai or Chi Chi and feel the warmth. :) Seriously, during the day - you shold be very comfortable, and bring a light sweater or even a poncho (if you want to walk in the possible rain) - if you are really worried.

Hawaii is basically the same temperture all year (high 70's, low 80's). When I want to Hawaii last year a local said that the tradewinds make it feel cooler in the summer, so you won't have to worry about that.
