Nova Scotia national or provincial parks
 

Tent - camping family looking to for the most beautiful spots in Nova Scotia for hiking and camping. We haven't planned a route yet, though we do plan to visit Halifax for starters. Thanks!

You will enjoy a holiday in Nova Scotia...Kejamakujik Provincial Park and the Cabot Trail (huge park there, but name escapes me) are beautiful. Nova Scotia is a small province and you can travel easily around it. Just email me for specifics and I will be happy to assist you.

The other park that Sonia refers to is the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. A truly wonderful area especially in the fall during the color change.

Lots of good hiking trails, a coast line dotted with fishing villages, there are beaches, rugged cliffs wildlife, great scenery and friendly people. (its not hard to tell I'm from Nova Scotia!) Really though, you should visit both Keji (nice hiking and canoeing) and the Highlands. Other great areas are the Bay of Fundy (fossils & worlds highest tides), Annapolis valley (farming),etc. Pls drop me an e-mail if you want further info.

PHONE THE VISITORS' BUREAU IN HALIFAX. THEY SEND OUT A WONDERFUL 300 PAGE GUIDEBOOK. MY HUSBAND AND I FLEW TO HALIFAX AND RENTED A CAR AND TRAVELED THE COAST FOR ABOUT 10 DAYS. NOVA SCOTIA IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACE THAT I HAVE EVER VISITED AND I HAVE TRAVELLED A LOT. YOU WILL LOVE IT. THE GUIDEBOOK TELLS YOU ABOUT HOW TO HIKE TO WONDERFUL WATERFALLS IN THE WOODS, LONELY LIGHTHOUSES AND SO MANY THINGS OFF THE BEATEN PATH. I WOULD LOVE TO GO AGAIN.

I drove around the Gaspe, from Quebec to New Brunswick. I underestimated how slow the roads are.
It took us all day to cover 300 miles, with a few stops. We stayed in the town of New Carlisle, founded by British Loyalists after the American Revolution started, and Ste. Anne du Mont on the north shore. French is the language of the Gaspe, so if you speak it, you will be much better off than we were. The people were friendly enough, but
conversation was limited. The main attraction is
Rocher Perce at the extreme end.

Nova Scotia and New Brunswick were pleasent and scenic. Those tides on the Bay of Fundy are something to see. But they do come in and out slowly.
