Planning a trip to Nova Scotia mid September
driving from Toronto. Need help with the itinerary. Have been very successful taking advice from fellow travelers. |
Since Nova Scotia is in Canada, you might get some responses if you posted your question on the Canada forum.

Kodi, yeah, but ....
I've driven from Toronto to Nova Scotia many times, and there really are lots of good reasons to go through the USA, especially if you've been to Montreal and Quebec City already. My favorite route goes from Toronto to the Ivy lea Bridge across the St. lawrence, down to Watertown, NY, east to Lake Champlain, ferry across to Burlington, Vermont, angle east to Portland, Maine, and then up the Maine coast to Boothbay Harbor, Lincolnville (stop for lobster; the restaurant is obvious)and up to Bar Harbor. After that, there's the question of taking a boat to Nova Scotia or driving north. My choice is drive to Campebello Island, ferry to Deer Island, ferry to the mainland, and then drive up through New Brunswick to Moncton, and then east into Nova Scotia. BAK |

Ok BRian, Sorry!! It was past my bed time and I wasn't thinking! OF course, it makes sense to drive through the States. I've never done it, but your route sounds great.
