Notify hotel it is your honeymoon?
 

Hi,

My daughter and new son-in-law will be staying at the Grand Floridian in Disney World for their honeymoon in 2 weeks. Is there any benefit in notifying the hotel that it is their honeymoon in advance?

I can't think of any disadvantages, so why not? They might end up with a free bottle of champagne or room upgrade and they might not, but they probably won't be any worse off. :)

Absolutely, especially at a place like Grand Floridian. It's a fabulous hotel, and they'll almost certainly leave something in the room for them (champagne, fruit basket, etc.) May also upgrade them, depending on availability.
When we went on our honeymoon to the Four Seasons in Maui, they brought a bottle of champagne to us in our room the first night, and another bottle at dinner a couple of nights later.

My husband and I were in WDW for our anniversary a few years back and had anniversary cards out on the table. When we got back to our room one day we had a Happy Anniversary card and picture frame from Mickey and Minnie. What a treat. So definately let them know.

Of course Disney should be informed! The only thing is that is during the busy sold out holiday season so they may not receive an upgrade but should get other Disney goodies!

I think an email would be ok, or you could call the concierge shortly before their arrival.

Nope, I would take the time to call the hotel directly and ask to speak to the reservations manager and get this noted on the reservation.

Definately call.. someone called the hotel we stayed at for our honeymoon (not the Disney Florida one mentioned) and we got champagne every night and a free limo ride!

Oh sooo funny swalter518, can feel the sarcasm. My first husband had a similar experience at WDW when he married his second one. Her secretary alerted the staff they were on honeymoon,so after dinner, Mickey and the gang in mouse suits showed up outside their door to sing late.he had to bribe them to keep neighbors from calling the desk. That is a good story, don't tell us you were being serious.
