Speak for yourself, Ms. Scarlett. No long weekend here, unfortunately. However, we do get other holidays that the US doesn't.

BTW - I emailed you in the last day or two, but my mail server has been down...did you get it? I asked you how Pup is since his run-in with Mr. Tick.

Everyone enjoy your holiday and don't forget to post a trip report when you return!

Ahh, labor day, funny name for a time when one does no labor (hopefully) For me, my raft is waiting and I'm going to doze on the peaceful waters of the lake and dream of Italy which is only one month away! YIPPEE!!

Daughter's birthday party is tomorrow!! So we'll have a big cookout and hopefully she can enjoy it. She's expecting and hot, humid weather and pregnancy doesn't agree too well.

Sunday we travel!! Up to northeastern PA for hubby's class reunion. That should be a blast!!

Friday we are going to hear Big Bad Voodoo Daddy jazz it up at the Conner Prairie Ampitheatre in Indy.

Saturday we pick up my parents at the airport. They'll be staying at our house making sure the kids don't go wild when we're in Italy for two weeks!

Sunday we are visiting friends for brunch--it'll be a fun day.

Monday we are saying official farewells to summer with a barbeque. Corn on the cob, burgers, watermelon, ice cream and peaches. And lots of cold ice tea and beer!

You too have a wonderful holiday weekend, Scarlett. I lurk on this forum a lot more than I post and I thank you and Kal and many others who provide witty and interesting repartee. I always enjoy it but I'm afraid I was out for lunch when the necessary gene for that talent was available.

Tonight I'm going to do something fun with some friends on the Windward side. Don't know what it is yet....I guess figuring it out is half the fun!

Running 12 miles on Sunday, then off to my family's annual reunion picnic in Hawaii Kai. (Used to be on the North Shore but the fam decided they prefer pool swimming.)

dwoody-Mrs Kal always remarks about my keen wit...something about only using half of it? :-?

dln,
BBVD roxxxx!!!
For my B'day, I want to take Amtrac up to Reno and see the Brian Setzer Orchestra.
We got hooked on this type of music about 10+ yrs ago when we went to the Monterey Squid Fest and saw a group called Indigo Swing. They appeared in Sacto a few times after that and actually toured w/ Setzer a few years back.

Ahhhh..the Squid Fest!

You really work? Hmm...it would seem you do nothing more than plant your butt in front of the computer, log onto this website and spend countless empty hours spewing inane drivel then wait on like minded simpletons to chime in. Such fun! Boy, you DO need a looong weekend. What will you do with it? Go out and find some miniscule thing to whine about and then hurry home to start the next thread?

Ooooo, iffy, I can tell who really needs that long weekend. Maybe you'll have a chance to get those cranky pants off.

Listen up, Kal, this is for you!!!

We almost didn't go tonight to listen to Big Bad Voodoo Daddy because it was pouring down rain and miserable.

But you said they roxxxx, and we believed you, so we went!

Talk about shoulder shakin' hip swingin' music!!!!!

I wore out my dancing shoes and my husband was Mambo King of the Night!

Thanks Kal for pushing us out the door and giving us a great start for the Labor Day weekend .

Plus, we bought their latest greatest CD and I met the base player and chatted him up for a few minutes and he was a really sweet guy. Talk about talent!
