Northwest Oregon Coast

My husband and I will be in this area in June and have only one night to stay before moving on to the Columbia River valley. Considering Astoria, Cannon beach or Seaside - other suggestions welcome as well.
thanks,
Arlene

How are you arriving in Oregon? From where? How many days are you spending in Oregon? Budget for hotels?

You can stay in any one of the three named places and easily visit the other two. Depends on your budget...Cannon Beach will be highest priced.

We are flying in and out of Seattle. Traveling to Victoria, Olympic NP, Mt. Rainier, Oregon coast and then on to Columbia River Valley before heading back to Seattle and home to Tampa! We typically spend about $150. per night. Just thought if one of the three cities had more to see than the others we'd choose it. Thanks for any suggestions.

When in June matters. In mid-June school lets out here, and it could be difficult to get a one-night reservation, especially on a weekend.

When you leave Mt. Rainier, it might be easier to go southeast to Yakima and then come south on US 97 to the Columbia River. Get on I-84 west to Hood River.
Head to the Oregon Coast after seeing the Columbia River Gorge and Mt. Hood.

We definitely enjoyed Cannon Beach the most. If you have time, Astoria has a very good maritime museum and a walk to the top of the Astoria Column is fun with great views.

Be sure to stop at Ecola State Park between Seaside and Cannon Beach for views of the coast that has been used in many movies. This is not a campground state park. It costs around $3 a car to get in.
