Trip Report Northern Michigan Trip Report

Jump to last reply

We made a six day trip to northern Michigan at the end of June The trip report isn't 100% finished, but we have another trip coming and the high points are all covered.

We stayed two nights at the Riviera Motel in Mackinaw City, with the very best view of the Mackinac Bridge, followed by two nights at the Grand Hotel and one more night with a waterfront room at the Beachcomber Motel in Mackinaw City. This will probably be our only stay at the Grand Hotel. For the same kind of money as their least expensive room, we can get a wonderful waterfront suite at the Chippewa Hotel.

The report includes photos from most of our meals, including menus. The waterfall pages include maps to help you find them. The second page of Soo Locks Engineers Day follows a single freighter all the way through the Poe Lock.

The report begins at mightymac.org/mackinac2014/14mackinac01.htm but it is many pages and if you would like to jump to what interests you.
