Northern California for 15 nights - suggestions?

Sorry to tell you that you are still not staying in the park.
YVL is just outside the west entrance and then it's another
20 minutes to the village. Better than Oakhurst for sure.

YVL is lovely, especially if you go for one of the top floor rooms with a river view. They have little private balconies
and you can leave the door open and listen to the river at night. Food in the main dining room is OK. The pizza place
on-site is pretty good. Unless you are dining at the Awahnee
Hotel, inside the park, you don't go to Yosemite for the food.
Do try to have a meal at the Awahnee. This will give you an
opportunity to visit the historic hotel.

Now, if you want to check got the slim chance that
you could stay in the park-look here-and know the reservations
are usually gone a year in advance.
